Safety Precautions for Electrical Work

Be sure to turn off the factory-side master power supply when working in the electrical box where the relay terminal block for the primary-side power line and the main breaker for the pouch-making machine are housed. Failure to do so is very dangerous due to the risk of electric shock.

If the pouch-making machine’s main breaker is simply turned off, the area indicated by the orange line in the following diagram will remain energized, resulting in the risk of electric shock.

These areas remain energized even after turning off the pouch-making machine’s main breaker.
* The areas will not be energized if the factory-side breaker is turned off.
These areas will not be energized after turning off the pouch-making machine’s main breaker.

  • *1 For machines without a breaker terminal cover, there is a risk of electric shock from contact with the exposed terminals. Turn off the factory-side master power supply before performing work.
  • *2 This terminal block is similar to other terminal blocks. Take care not to mistake it for any other terminal block.
Some machine models and machines manufactured in certain years may not have a relay terminal block.

Before performing work, perform lockout/tagout on the factory-side master power supply to prevent the factory-side master power supply from being turned on by accident.

Lockout
Refers to the operation of cutting off the device that provides power to the machine by way of locking this device to protect the operator.

Tagout
Refers to using a tag or similar object to explicitly state a warning that prohibits the operation of the device that has been locked out.

Reference photographs

The areas indicated by red circles in the reference photographs remain energized even after turning off the pouch-making machine’s main breaker.
* To prevent electric shock, turn off the factory-side master power supply to ensure the area is not energized before performing work.
